12° Gravity
We don’t cut corners on quality. Especially when it comes to our characteristic 12° original gravity. European regulations permit lagers to be brewed with less than 12° OG. Original gravity is the original content of malt sugars before fermentation begins Beers in Europe are become increasingly similar; we intend to retain the 'strength' and 'flavour' of our regional autonomy.
Stiegl may be more expensive than some beers produced by corporate breweries. After all, in some countries taxation on beer is based on its original gravity. Quality and taste do come at a price. Stiegl Goldbräu will continue to be brewed at 12°. We will not budge an inch from this conviction – not now, and not in the future.
