The best schnapps distiller in Austria comes from Saalfelden in the province of Salzburg. A few years ago Siegfried Herzog was unknown to the world but now he is the benchmark for the Austrian distilling scene, as his many accolades demonstrate.

He specialises in spirits distilled from beer for the Stiegl brewery. Perfection is achieved with a great deal of technical expertise and that special sense of when something's just right.
