The selection of the 'landlord of the year' has alreay become a tradition. Every year the coveted title is awarded for each county at Stiegl Brauwelt.
Two gourmet food experts and publishers of 'Wo isst Österreich?' - Klaus Egle and Renate Wagner - are responsible for the selection of the 'landlord of the year'. An independent team of experts from 'Wo isst Österreich?' travels up and down the country inspecting the draught beer is stored, pulled and served; what glasses it is served in, the quality of the service, the necessary culinary know-how - and all the dishes and foods that go with the beer.
Since its inception, the selection process has enjoyed the full support of Stiegl's owner, Dr. Heinrich Dieter Kiener, since Austria's largest privately owned brewery has been contributing to the maintaining brewing and drinking culture for decades.
