Founded in Fort Collins (Denver) in 2011, Crooked Stave specialises in Belgian sour beers and has meanwhile achieved a cult status that stretches far beyond the borders of Denver. Crooked Stave's Vieille (eng.: old) Artisanal is yet another surprise: a dry hopped season with Brettanomyces character matured in the cask. It is this combination that makes this beer so unique.
Light grassy notes on the nose accompanied by a hint of citrus. Its taste is reminiscent of grapefruit and lemon zest with subtle herbal notes. It is refreshing on the palate with a fine effervescence and a pleasantly herb finish. A very unusual beer with an interesting taste profile.
