This beer is brewed under the watchful supervision of the monks at the Trappist monastery Achel Kluis that was only recently restored in 1997 with the support of the Trappist monastery of Westmalle.
It is dark golden in appearance with a cream-coloured head and a slightly yeasty cloudiness. Its bouquet is of floral notes with a touch of banana. The first impression on the palate is full-bodied with a strong malt body accompanied by a discreet mellifluous sweetness. The final impression is dry with a warming alcoholic finish.
