Finally the time has come - the new exhibition hall at the Stiegl-Brauwelt Museum opened in early February. The history of the Stiegl Brewery, as well as that of its former and current inhabitants, is illustrated against the backdrop of the Salzburg Chronicle in a space spanning over 400 m².
"Among beverages beer is the most useful, among medicines the tastiest and among food the most pleasant invention."
In addition to original historical artefacts from various centuries, for example guild crest poles belonging to the brewers and coopers or the golden Stieglkeller book, to name but a few, the new exhibition focuses primarily on staging the exhibits using the new museum design. "History is not dusty and outdated; it is alive and close enough to touch."
Using state-of-the-art technology, visitors are swept up in the world of the past. Listen to the master brewers, who address you suddenly and rather unexpectedly, telling their story. Another highlight is the 4K multitouch table - pin-sharp images and never-before-seen animations that take you on a journey through the centuries: all the way from 1492 right up to the present day.
