Brewing grain from Austria
The high-quality, two-row spring barley we use as a basis for our malt comes from the Weinviertel region in Lower Austria and is processed in a specific way for each beer type. Malt is brewing barley that has been converted by soaking, germination and drying. It gives our beer its content and fullness of flavour. Every stage of the malting process is an important factor that impacts the body and colour of the beer. Again, Stiegl is pioneering a new diversity of varieties that has its origins in the traditional malting house and roasting house at the Stiegl Farm in Wildshut.
